Congress and NCP are said to hold talks with Shiv Sena. Senior Congress leader Prithviraj Chavan mentioned on Thursday that his Congress and NCP are on the same page on all issues pertaining to the government formation in Maharashtra and they will now hold discussions with the Shiv Sena to finalize the alliance. The Congress and NCP will hold discussions with the Peasants Workers Party (PWP), Swabhimani Paksha, Samajwadi Party, and CPM before meeting the Shiv Sena. The discussions will be held in Mumbai. Top Congress leaders, Jairam Ramesh, Mallikarjun Kharge, Prithviraj Chavan, Ahmed Patel, Balasaheb Thorat, Naseem Khan, and NCP leaders Praful Patel, Supriya Sule, Jayant Patil, Ajit Pawar, and Nawab Malik were part of the meeting. Prithiviraj Chavan mentioned that the Nationalist Congress Party and the Congress have held discussions on all issues. There is perfect unanimity on all matters. He also added that decisions will be taken tomorrow on what the outline of the alliance will be like. The final decision will be declared in Mumbai.

He further said that only after all the matters are cleared by the three parties, the coalition will move a step towards risking an assertion to form the government. The statement of the Common Minimum Programme will elucidate everything about the new government. Congress and NCP have had separate meetings with its central and state leaders about the coalition and also in talks with Shiv Sena leader Uddhav Thackeray. The Congress Working Party said yes to the alliance after a long series of discussions. Congress leader Sonia Gandhi led the discussions. The finer details will be presented by Friday. The Congress and NCP leaders had held a long series of meetings on Wednesday to discuss details of their alliance as they work to form a new administration in the state in association with Sena.
