On Tuesday, authorities in Warangal district discovered a gang that was reportedly creating fraudulent educational certificates, and 12 people were arrested. According to them, the gang members used high-quality scanners to create fake certificates and mark sheets for graduation and other courses at various universities around the nation, as well as other educational papers, which they sold to students in order to help them get admission to academic institutions abroad. Warangal Police Commissioner Tarun Joshi said the gang members had been working for two to three years and were charging between Rs 1 lakh and Rs 4 lakh for false certificates.
As of now, 62 students who traveled overseas for further study, including the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, have been identified, according to the senior official. Police arrested 12 gang members based on specific information. Three other gang members are still on the loose. Among the items confiscated from the accused were 212 fake certificates, six computers, printers, false rubber stamps, and laminating equipment. More investigation is underway.

Meanwhile, Sukhadev Dere, the former commissioner of the Maharashtra State Council of Examinations (MSCE), was detained by Pune Police in connection with alleged malpractices in the 2018 Teachers’ Eligibility Test, according to an official. According to authorities, Supe and another person were detained by the Pune police for allegedly receiving the money to manipulate the results of some applicants so that they might pass the TET. Supe had also been found to be in possession of unaccounted cash and gold jewelry worth more than Rs 2 crore, according to the police. In addition, authorities in Gujarat said that they had caught the key suspect in the leak of a question paper prior to a written test for the appointment of head clerks.
