Madhu Chopra, Priyanka Chopra’s mother, previously affirmed to sources that her actress daughter is not planning a divorce after she removed both of her surnames from social media in November. Priyanka Chopra Jonas, who is married to singer Nick Jonas, removed her surname, as well as her husband’s last name, from her social media accounts earlier this month. The actress has ditched the surnames ‘Chopra’ and ‘Jonas’ from her Instagram and Twitter profiles in favour of only Priyanka.
Her fans were taken aback by what was going on at the time, as neither she nor anyone from her staff provided any explanation for the decision. Many people have speculated that her marriage to Nick is on the rocks and that the couple is on the verge of divorce. However, according to sources Priyanka’s mother, Madhu Chopra, denied rumours of her daughter’s divorce. Priyanka Chopra has now spoken out on her decision to remove her surnames from social media. “I don’t know,” she told. I believe I required a username that matched my Twitter account. I simply find it humorous that everything becomes such a big deal to others. Guys, it’s social media. Just have a seat!”
