Who is Ekta Kapoor?
Ekta Kapoor is an Indian television producer, film producer and director. She works in Hindi cinema and soap operas. She is the joint manager and creative head of Balaji Telefilms Limited, founded in 1994. In April 2017, Ekta launched ALT Balaji. She has received the Padma Shri in 2020 for her exceptional work in the field of art.
She is the daughter of the legendary Jeetendra and Shobha Kapoor. Tusshar Kapoor who is also a Bollywood actor is her younger brother. Ekta has a son named Ravi Kapoor, via surrogacy. She is not married.
Ekta began her career when she was only 15 interning with Kailash Surendranath, ad and feature filmmaker. She became a producer once she got the finances from her father Jeetendra.
