A member of Rajya Sabha made an alleged “personal” remark against Samajwadi Party MP Jaya Bachchan on Monday, and she lost her cool as a result. Bachchan was speaking during a debate on the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (Amendment) Bill, 2021, when the member made the alleged “personal” remark against her. At first, she charged that the Chair, presided over by Bhuwaneswar Kalitha, was not paying attention to the Opposition’s concerns.
The Opposition was continuously bringing up the subject of the 12 opposition members who had been suspended from the House.
“I don’t wish to express my gratitude to you. “You should be objective and refrain from supporting any one political party,” she remarked, addressing the Chair. In addition, Bachchan stated that Kalita himself used to demonstrate in the Well of the House. In the midst of this, BJP MP Rakesh Sinha rose up and expressed his displeasure with Bachchan’s behavior toward the Chair, sparking an exchange of words that continued between her and the Treasury benches.

She was given the opportunity to speak on the subject of narcotics once more by the Chair. “We’re looking for justice. Is it possible to expect justice? … What exactly is going on? There are numerous topics that we are debating in relation to a measure that has been introduced by the government in order to repair a mistake. “This is terrible,” Bachchan expressed his displeasure.
Pointing to the treasury benches, she exclaimed fiercely, “Aapke bure din bohot jaldi aane vale hain” (apke bure din bohot aane vale hain) (your bad days are coming soon). “I curse you,” I say.
She asserted that efforts were being made to muzzle the voices of members of the Opposition party. If there are any unparliamentary remarks, Kalita stated that the Chair would go through the records and remove them if necessary.
Bachchan then alleged that a member of the House had made “personal remarks” about her, and she urged that the Chair take action against the member in question. It’s important to me not to make any personal remarks about anyone. The events that have transpired have been tragic. They should not have expressed themselves in that manner. “I was quite outraged by this,” she told reporters outside the Upper House. Meanwhile, the Rajya Sabha has been delayed until Tuesday by the Chair.
