The newly-mutated variant Omicron has managed to make waves in India, especially in those states that are more prone to receive international tourists. As a result, these states are coming up with new and updated guidelines to ensure the safety of their citizens. One such state is Goa that has recently come up with new travel guidelines for both international and domestic passengers.
For international passengers, the thermal screening will be done. After that, a self-declaration form will be filled by the passengers followed by a COVID test. Passengers coming from high-risk countries will have to undergo the following procedures as mentioned below:
- Submission of sample for COVID-19 test is to be done. The cost will be borne by the passengers.
- If found negative, they will have to follow home quarantine for a week. After that, another test will be done. If again tested negative, then they will remain in isolation for one more week.
- However, if tested positive, guidelines and protocols laid down by the state government will be followed with immediate effect. The patient will be placed in isolation.
