The morning of 20th December 2021 launched itself with the roaring voice of BJP leaders in the parliament when all the lotus holders boldly introduced the Election law(amendment) bill in front of Lok sabha. The bill contains the statement of linking Aadhar cards with the electoral cards of the country’s citizens. Bhartiya Janta Party proposed that for the foremost reason of country security Aadhar cards must be directly linked to the voter’s card. The proposal was being strongly opposed by the Congress leaders, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury and Manish Tewari. They mentioned that this can act against national securities and hence require not to be declared as an act. Sougata Roy, a TMC member, also strongly opposed this proposal. Some stand out with the view that the bill will create an interruption in personal privacy, some stated that this bill will be a work which will be against the election commission, some declared that this bill votes the voting rights of the people. The entire day rushed with the arguments on the same hearing out the opposition as well the favoring sets.
When Congress leader Shashi Tharoor went with the sentence that the aadhar card provides residential proves rather than citizenship proves, along with this he spoke about the fact that only the citizens of the country are allowed to vote for the government. Responding to this extreme statement, Kiren Rijiju our Law Minister stood up that no one in the opposite correct understood the purpose for this amendment. He went further featuring that this was made to stop multiple enrollments by a particular person from different places. This will provide an accurate measure for the population of the country. The country needs serious changes in the aadhar card because people of the country enroll multiple times from distant places. This can add serious threats to the safety and security of the nation, which needed to get scaled down at a rapid pace.
