Due to the upcoming omicron scare, the Indian Government renewed a few travel rules for international travelers. These rules were announced in accordance with the public health advice of states and UT’s. All international flyers should submit 14 days travel history with a negative test report. The travel rules are emitted from 1st December. The following rules are:
- All passengers must submit a negative covid test report conducted within 72 hours of taking the mentioned journey.
- Airlines should only allow those to the board who have signed the self-declaration form with the attached negative report uploaded on the Air Subidha Portal.
- Passengers belonging to or flying through risky countries should go through post-arrival testing and if tested positive must be kept in quarantine.
- Such passengers should go through an RT-PCR test after arriving. They have to wait for the results before leaving or taking any connecting flights.
- If tested negative they should be put into home isolation for 7 days and must submit their health reports on the 8th
- If the passengers are tested positive, their samples must be sent for genomic testing. They must be immediately transported to an isolation facility. The standard rules must be followed after including the contact tracing without fail.
- The contact of such travelers must be put into quarantine immediately as per the rules laid by the government.
- Travelers from safe countries must be allowed to leave the airport but should be kept under observation for 14 days due to health concerns.
- Few people boarding the flight have to go through the testing at the airport randomly on their arrival.

These rules were provided to get very effective and helpful during all the previous covid-19 mutations. Hopefully this time it remains the same too. Travelers should not move about too much because they put other countries at risk.
