Nakul Kumar is an Indian playback singer and actor who primarily works in Tamil Cinema (Kollywood). He started his career as one of the leads in the 2003 film “Boys”, directed by S. Shankar. Nakkhul (Nakul Kumar) was born on June 15, 1984, in Mumbai, Maharashtra, into a middle-class Konkani family. His father’s and mother’s name is Jaidev and Lakshmi respectively. Mayur, Nakul’s elder brother, is also trying to make a career as an actor. However, most of his films don’t even release. On the other hand, Nakul’s elder sister Devayani is a famous actress of the 90s. In addition, he is married to his college girlfriend, Shruti Bhaskar. Nakkhul and Shruti are very famous for singing together and making Reels on Instagram. Additionally, he is a huge animal-lover and owns a number of dogs and cats. Career 

At the age of 17, Nakul Kumar played the part of Juju in an S. Shankar 2003 film “Boys”. Initially, his family sent some pictures of his elder brother, Mayur, to Shankar. However, the director decided to cast Nakul in the leading role after noticing him in some photographs. Eventually, the film was released in August 2003 and got mixed reviews from critics and audiences around India.

Subsequently, he did a Telugu language film “Keelu Gurram”, in which he was cast in a supporting role. This film was not a box office success. Therefore, it became difficult for him to get roles in movies. During that time, he only got jobs as a playback singer. He is very popular for recording Harris Jayaraj films “Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu” and “Anniyan Ghajini”.

In 2006, Nakul Kumar got his first feature film P.V. Prasadh’s “Kadhalil Vizhunthen” as a lead actor and lost almost 20 kg in order to fit into his character. Certainly, this is the film that will define Nakul’s career in the film industry. Prasadh was not in a hurry to finish the movie, therefore taking almost two years in production. The movie’s soundtrack “Nakka Mukka” became a massive success for the audiences. After the film’s release, it immediately became a commercial hit, with film critics praising and raving about his performance. Subsequently, he acted in several other Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam films.
