The Bill of repealing farm laws was finished passing in under 5 minutes. Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar justified this by saying that even the opposition party wanted to see this bill passed. Hence, there was no discussion, as both parties wanted the same thing. Minister Tomar also adds the comment that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decision of repealing the farmer’s law is highly respected. And since even Congress wanted to see the bill passed, the decision was announced very quickly.
The mutual decision of repealing the farmer’s bill was due to the adverse consequences of the bill coming out in the first place. Since the farmer’s bill has been passed, more than 700 farmers have lost their lives during protests. This united the farmers to fight against it and remain adamant in their decision of appealing the government to rebuke the bill.
The bill was hence passed by a voice note. However, the process of the decision is being labeled as unfair, as the opposition leaders and party members are saying they wanted a proper discussion to decide if the bill should have been passed or not.

The bill was repealed after 1 year and three months of the suffering of the farmers. The bill included financial and trading fixations imposed by the government. This triggered a large-scale farmer agitation within India. However, after much struggle on November 19th, Prime Minister Narendra Modi decided to appeal the decision of the bill. This incident of passing the bill without a discussion has left congress leaders in awe, as they assume the court has begun to take state and national-related decisions casually.
The congressmen wanted a debate on the decision, as PM Modi and his party considers this decision as an act of gratefulness. This triggered a conflict amongst both parties, on top of the fact of the lack of debate within the Rajya Sabha.
