Ruchir Sharma, the Head of Emerging Markets and Chief Global Strategist at MORGAN STANLEY is leaving the bank after serving for a great time of 25 years. Ruchir Sharma will be leaving the investment banker and financial services firm on January 31st 2022 to focus on writing opportunities and venture into investments. He is currently the head of emerging markets and chief global strategist at Morgan Stanley.

He has an appreciable investment experience of 27 years and under his direct management has close to $20 billion in assets. Along with such experience and strength, he informed some of his friends that he will now try to pursue new investing and writing opportunities.
In the year 1996, he joined Morgan Stanley Investment Management (MSIM) based in Mumbai as an associate in the emerging markets group. And then between the following years, 1997 and 1998, he travelled a lot across Asia covering the East Asian financial crisis.

In the year 2000, he got the opportunity to run India’s office of MSIM and then his India dedicated funds were among the top performers in the years 2001 and 2002. In the year 2002, at the fine age of 28, he was promoted to managing director, which made him the youngest person at Morgan Stanley to hold that title.
