Nawab Malik asserted that Sameer Wankhede is a naturalized Muslim based on his birth certificate. This caught some serious attention on social media. The illegal phone tapping garnered an audience. However, the NCB Zonal Director disputed Malik’s charges, stating that his father, Dnyandev Kachruji Wankhede, is a former Senior Police Inspector.
Prabhakar Sail, an independent witness for the NCB, has accused Sameer Wankhede of bribery. Malik also claimed that Wankhede had asked the police for a call detail record (CDR) of a family member, “this individual’s son-in-law, Sameer Khan,” according to the NCB.

Wankhede alleged in an affidavit filed in a Mumbai court on Monday that he was under “lurking fear of arrest because it does not suit some entrenched interests. The individual went on to say that he was being individually targeted by a well-known political figure (Malik).

The NCP leader further alleged that he obtained a letter from an unnamed NCB official detailing 36 improperly filed cases by the agency. Some incidents detailed in the letter, according to Malik, include Bollywood celebrities. The way things are mentioned in the anonymous letter is tied to internal matters, thus there is reason to believe that it is authentic.
