Banking and ATM services have been blown by the two-day national strike call provided by the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU), an umbrella company of nine bank federations with over 10 lakh bank workers and officials. The workers of numerous public sector banks, encompassing State Bank of India (SBI), Punjab National Bank (PNB), and Bank of Baroda, are currently on a two-day strike — December 16 and 17 — to oppose the presented privatization of the lenders run by the state. PNB had stated that while the Bank has prepared all agreements to assure normal functioning in its branches and offices, jobs in our Bank may likely be affected by the strike.
