On Saturday, tryouts for the recruitment of Punjab state representatives for the 4th version of the Khelo India Youth Games would begin in Ludhiana. Various sporting events in the under-18 classification will be contested at the Games, which will then be hosted in Panchkula, Haryana, from February 5 to 14, 2022.
On Saturday, the Ludhiana Sports Department would organize tryouts for the state girls’ and boys’ football, kabaddi, handball, and basketball teams. The judging panel will be chaired by a district sports officer (DSO) Ravinder Singh, as well as a delegate from the Punjab Sports Association and a member of the Schools Games Federation of India (SGFI).
The tests for kabaddi, basketball, and football will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Guru Nanak Stadium. Handball tryouts are set to take place at Punjab Agricultural University. Similarly, Kho-Kho trials would be conducted at Polo Ground in Patiala on Saturday, while Hockey tryouts would. be placed at Lyallpur Khalsa College in Jalandhar on November 6, 2021.

In the previous edition, competitors competed in 19 different sports. This time, participants will compete in 25 sporting disciplines, including handball, as well as five indigenous sports disciplines such as gatka, kalarippayattu, thang-ta, yogasana, and mallakhambh.
Archery, kabaddi, judo, table tennis, athletics, tennis, badminton, shooting, kho-kho, basketball, weightlifting, gymnastics, hockey, swimming, volleyball, boxing, football, cycling, and wrestling are among the other sports.
Athletes born on or after January 1, 2003, are eligible to compete in these championships. Players have been instructed to bring any two of their identity documents with them. They are permitted to carry their Aadhar Cards, passports, matriculate certificates, or birth certificates. The certificate should’ve been certified by the MC/Gram Panchayat on or before November 21, 2016.
