Nowadays, everywhere, the competition is stiff. Two companies that have reigned the tech world for decades are Microsoft and Apple. Their rivalry is just like the competition between two of the biggest commercial aircraft manufacturers, Boeing and Airbus. Since the days when Microsoft had Bill Gates and Apple has Steve Jobs, the competition was so severe, as if they were some kind of enemies.
For years, Apple and Microsoft were second to none, either in the tech world or in the business world. And still, no one seems to come anywhere close to them. However, time seems to fluctuate as it always does, but this time for the betterment of Microsoft. Microsoft has officially beaten Apple to become the world’s most valuable company. You might be thinking it to be the first time Microsoft has managed to achieve this feat. However, you are wrong, this has happened many times before and will happen in the future too.
Microsoft acquired Clear Software, focusing on SAP and Oracle connectivity
It is all about the stock values of the respective companies. Since they tend to fluctuate with time, sometimes Microsoft wins the game, and sometimes Apple emerges victorious. However, this time it is Microsoft since Apple’s stock value dropped by 1.8%, putting down the company’s value at $2.46 trillion. On the other hand, Microsoft’s stock value jumped by 2.2%. This jump resulted in Microsoft being valued at $2.49 trillion.
The last time something like this happened was in the first half of 2020 during the onset of the pandemic. If you are guessing that the pandemic had to do something with it, then you are right. Another interesting fact is that Apple is the first U.S. firm to surpass the market value of $2 trillion, followed by Microsoft. And now, Microsoft has taken the lead.
