The winners of PETA India’s awards illustrate that the future of Indian fashion is vegan, said Monica Chopra, PETA India Senior Media and Celebrity Projects Coordinator, of the importance of vegan fashion and its influence. From silk-free saris to leather-free purses, wallets, and shoes, it’s simpler than ever to put together a fashionable appearance that leaves animal cruelty behind, she added.
PETA India further points out that making animal skin into clothing necessitates a significant amount of energy as well as hazardous chemicals that harm the environment. Leather, silk, and wool are among the most polluting materials in fashion, according to the 2017 Pulse of the Fashion Industry study.
Others on the list of awards include Thaely’s sneakers, The made-in-India, 100% vegan leather handbags by Qisa by Lavie, Monkstory, Shubam Sarees, Plum’s skin-care, make-up, hair-care, and other products that are free of animal-derived ingredients and never tested on animals and many more.
