The Maharashtra government is on its way to restoring operations to the new normal. As a result, it has finally started opening schools after 20 months. Due to the fear of their children lagging in their studies, more and more parents are now sending them back to schools. This trend is being seen especially in children of senior classes. According to a parent, more and more parents are coming forward to send their children back to school. According to him, even though the children have adjusted well to the online mode of learning, they are not the same as offline education. Even though parents have warmly welcomed the government’s decision to revert to the online mode, some are also waiting for their children to get jabbed before sending them to schools.

Another big reason that the parents have welcomed this decision with open arms is that it will change their confined routine. Due to the online mode of classes, children were spending most of their time in front of the screen impacting their health and routine. The restoration to the offline classes will put a definite stop to this. Many other parents have also supported this decision citing that the government has been taking necessary precautions to prevent COVID-19. However, some parents also feel otherwise. They feel that this is not the right time to reopen schools due to the arrival of the new variant, Omicron. The inability of the government to effectively handle the situation the previous times has rubbed many parents the wrong way.
