India is a developing country that requires quintessential leadership that exemplifies virtue, honesty, and inspiration. Today, as we walk down the untrodden roads of growth and development, every day comes as a new challenge. In this raging competition of survival, the industries and common people need someone they can look up to. The demarcation of good leadership does not end on the roads of inspiration. A leader needs to take the responsibility of creating an exceptional environment for his audience to grow. Indian Administrative Services (IAS) has registered its position on the top of the list of the prestigious examinations in India. This is for a reason. The candidates clearing this test have the aptitude and will power, unlike many Indians. As they are given such prestigious offices to hold, their responsibilities touch the sky. Kavita Singh IAS is one such stalwart leader in the state of Punjab.
About one of her Movements
In today’s age, various socio-economic problems have besieged India. The lower class of society faces the brunt of these complications. It is true to say that the dilapidated state of our country requires better administrators who empathize with people facing the wrath of our system. To help with this move, Kavita Singh IAS joined hands with her fellow IAS comrade Raji P. Srivastava to help the underprivileged members of our society. They walked down the roads of Punjab and noticed the decremented state of the homeless and poor people. While doing that, as the bodies of those people shivered with cold, the hearts of these ladies were filled with empathy.
Exactly on the morning that followed, they organized a quick and short meeting to discuss the fate of these people. Diwali was around the corner during that time and everyone was busy cleaning and decorating their houses. On those days when the entire nation was taking care of their families, these two ladies – Kavita Singh IAS and Raji Srivastava IAS – created history. They helped people who couldn’t help themselves by giving them blankets to protect them from the chilly winter nights.
How did it start?
The movement started on a small and inexplicit scale when they asked their co-workers to contribute the old and unused things at their house. As the word of the mouth spread, people started donating books, blankets, and crockery. First, it was just the people of their department who initiated, later, the entire office joined the altruistic cause. People started informing their friends and relatives to join the movement. Just in this way, the word reached every ear in the state and over thousands of people had donated stationary, warm clothes, utensils, and other materialistic things to help the destitute.
