The two-day North East Education Conclave-2021, organized by the Shankardev Education and Research Foundation (SERF) Guwahati with the help of the Assam education department, will begin on November 20. It seeks to demonstrate the basic concept of NE, as well as challenges and experiences linked to its implementation in several of India’s main states.
“Several representatives will debate a proper plan for NEP implementation in the northeast, and over 300 delegates, including 41 central institutions and national institutes and 57 state universities, will attend. It aims to revitalize the entire educational system by preserving what is valuable to indigenous culture while providing the tools needed to thrive and progress in a modern society whose very foundation is based on the peaceful coexistence of both technology and culture “Amandeep Das, secretary of the SERF, stated. He stated that the North East Education Conclave would examine and reflect on many elements of the NEP-2020, which will aid in the creation of a roadmap for the North East Region and the development of strategies for its successful implementation.
Assam to implement national education policy for the year 2022-22
He went on to say that the North East Region has the greatest diversity of languages, with roughly 180 languages spoken by the tribes that live there. The NEP-2020 has underlined the importance of providing education in one’s home tongue and local language, and the government is working hard to make this goal a reality. Speaking of the state’s linguistic variety, he stated that Assam may serve as an Indian laboratory for local-language education.
Prof DP Singh, the chairperson of the University Grants Commission, will make the keynote talk, with Assam Chief Minister Himata Biswa Sarma as the guest of honor and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan as the chief guest. The conclave will be attended by education ministers from Sikkim, Tripura, Manipur, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, and Mizoram, along with Assam’s Dr. Ranoj Pegu.
