For the first time in 60 years, you will be able to walk the Trans Bhutan Trail. The Kingdom of Bhutan will reopen the 250-mile historic trail in March 2022, after two years of substantial rehabilitation. The Bhutan Canada Foundation, the organization that led the restoration, has chosen G Adventures, a community-focused tour operator, as the first group adventure operator to receive access. After two years of intense renovation, the 400-kilometer historic trail will reopen in March 2022. Two new exciting trekking itineraries will be available: an 11-day Camp the Trans Bhutan Path experience and a 12-day Highlights of the Trans Bhutan Path journey.
In a statement, Yves Marceau, vice president of product at G Adventures, said, “We’re pleased to be partnering with the Bhutan Canada Foundation and the Trans Bhutan Path to inaugurate the freshly rebuilt trail in lovely Bhutan.” “It’s a country we’ve been running tours in for more than a decade and have long respected for its devotion to its people’s happiness and a sustainable way of life, both of which are philosophies that connect with our company’s ideals.”
Bhutan is one of just two carbon-negative countries on the earth, as many people are unaware. It is frequently listed as one of the top ten biodiversity hotspots. The famous trail will pass through several breathtaking mountain ranges and beautiful valleys. It can also connect more than a dozen cities and villages around the country, as well as a number of historic and cultural attractions, including nine Dzong Fortresses. The two new Trans Bhutan Path routes, which will begin on May 1, 2022, are now available to book. The cost of the path is $3149 for each individual.
