Mumbai has waterfalls that range from 30 feet high to 853 feet high, these magnificent streams brush through the verdant forests and the Rocky Mountains before finally tumbling into large pools making it look fascinating.

It has everything you could dream of, curvy roads, exquisite greenery and waterfalls. The best time to visit Yeoor Hills is Monsoon. The extra lush greenery adds up to the natural grandeur of the place. 

Yeoor basically encompasses 6 villages but the cynosure is most definitely the marvellous hills. It is an incredible tourist spot for people looking for places that bring them peace and calm but also some adventure. 

If you visit the Yeoor Hills, you can relish the entire day in nature’s lap and also indulge in exciting adventures like hiking, you can enjoy bird watching or just simply take in the overwhelming beauty of the Hills.

The Yeoor Hills are located near the Thane station. You can effortlessly board a cab and reach the location. You can also travel by Mumbai’s Central Line and get a Rickshaw to the hills.

Pandavkada Falls

Pandavkada Falls is a waterfall that is located in Kharghar which is a suburb of Navi Mumbai. It is 107 meters high and is a type of declining waterfall in nature pouring in a huge amount of water on the Rocky Mountains.

The Pandavkada Falls is said to have been named after the Pandavas, who once visited this place and took a bath below the falls when they were expelled to the forests according to Hindu Mythology. Within the Pandavkada is a big tunnel from where the Pandavas had come which is why it is known as Pandavkada.

You can experience the actual beauty and strength of nature here at Pandavkada Falls. The forest area around the Falls gives it a feel of an ancient bathing area. Visitors take a walk in the forest to enjoy nature in its rawest form. Anybody who visits Pandavkada Falls will feel like they have seen what Paradise looks like. 

The best time to visit Pandavkada is Monsoon obviously because the weather at that time is absolutely serene and brings a sense of peace. The forest around the waterfall makes it even more unique and beautiful and a better place to stay a little longer. The constant refreshing climate at the waterfalls is something that attracts most people. Visitors enjoy the sweet sound of the birds chirping and flying from log to log. 

Bhivpuri Falls

Bhivpuri Falls is an exquisite tourist spot. It is a great place to get out of the city life for a while. Going away from the daily hassle of city life is something that every person living in Mumbai is looking for. Bhivpuri Falls is a place that fulfils the wishes of the people. 

It is located on the outskirts of the island city, and to reach Bhivpuri Falls one has to board a local train bound for Karjat. 

The waterfall is approximately 20 feet high and is only active during the monsoon season that is May to mid-September. The best time to visit the waterfalls is July to August because at this time the water drops with all its power. Bhivpuri Falls is crowded almost every weekend with people of all ages coming to enjoy the beauty of the serene waterfall and the lush greenery.

Before entering the waterfall, villagers take a small amount of fee from the visitors to keep the area around the waterfall clean and tidy. The waterfall is surrounded by a lot of stalls that sell snacks both vegetarian and non-vegetarian. Some of them also sell beer and other alcohol at a slightly higher rate. 

Waterfall rappelling is conducted during the monsoon season and all these activities attract visitors that are suckers for adventure. While venturing, people should keep in mind that they should not go too deep because there have been cases of people drowning.

Kune Falls is located in Lonavala. It is a scenic waterfall situated near the Kune Village in Pune, Maharashtra. It is one of the most famous places that one should not miss if on a Maharashtra tour and also the best places to visit in Pune. 

The waterfalls are at a height of 622 m from the ground with a backdrop of the beautiful Sahyadri Mountains. It is a three-tiered waterfall each at a distance of about 200 m. 

This serene waterfall attracts a lot of tourists in the rainy season when the flow of the water is at its peak and flows down with great speed. People often swim and bathe at these waterfalls to enjoy their time. The water from this waterfall keeps flowing even after a long time from Monsoon.

Vihigaon Waterfall

This waterfall is located in the deep forests of the Thane district in Maharashtra. Vihigaon Waterfalls is also known as Ashoka Waterfall. It is a monsoon fed waterfall that attracts many tourists visiting Mumbai to see the gallons of water that straddles down the slope that creates a spectacular view.

Vihigaon is a seasonal waterfall near the village of Vihigaon at a distance of 13.5 km from Igatpuri and 59 km from Nashik. It is a waterfall surrounded by greenery all around that is a major reason for the tourist attraction. 

If you want to get rejuvenated and relaxed you should not miss this spot. It brings a sense of serenity and is good for your peace of mind. One should visit this waterfall with friends and family to have a great time. 

The gushing sound of the waterfall, dropping from a height of 120 feet brings pure bliss to the ears. Adventures like zip lining and flying fox are also a part of the Vihigaon Waterfalls. It is also a way to get a glimpse of the beautiful Western Ghats while cruising past on the rope from one end of the forest to the other.

Umbrella Falls

The Umbrella Falls is at a distance of 500 m from Bhandardara Bus Stop. It is a beautiful seasonal waterfall located in the Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra. It is one of the best tourist spots in Maharashtra. People on a Maharashtra tour should not miss this naturally serene place. 

When the Wilson dam overflows during monsoon, water gushes out from a small opening in its northern end over a semicircular rock, forming the picturesque Umbrella Falls. This waterfall is also used to generate hydroelectric power. 

The bridge that is located right below the waterfall gives the full and proper look of the Waterfall to viewers. Monsoon is the best time to visit this place because the dam reaches its full capacity.  

Randha Falls

At a height of about 170 feet, Randha Falls offers a rejuvenating look of the water streaming down with its full capacity producing a roar as it touches the ground. 

To get a refreshed mind you can take a dip in the pond of the waterfall. It is a gorgeous place to visit in the Monsoon season. For people who are keen photographers, Randha Falls is a treat. Dugarwadi Waterfall

Dugarwadi Waterfall is at a distance of about 8 km from Trimbakeshwar and 38 km from Nashik. It is one of the best natural waterfalls that is located in Mumbai and is a very attractive tourist spot. 

It is a great place to visit and explore the natural beauty of Mother Nature, especially in the Monsoon season. The dense and lush green forests and fresh and rejuvenating air are all the factors that make Dugarwadi Waterfall an exciting place to visit. 

People working a daily 9-5 job and are fed up with their mundane lifestyle, should definitely visit this waterfall to give their mind some peace and relax their body a bit. The serene sound of the flow of the water puts your mind in a calming state and makes it the perfect spot for people. 

Even though the waterfall is very pretty, visitors must take utmost care of themselves in the monsoon season when the water level is extremely high and can rise suddenly. 

We would recommend visiting Dugarwadi Falls in a group and not alone. It is not a private place hence no security is available in this secluded area. 

Dabdaba Waterfalls

Dabdaba Waterfalls is surrounded by forests on all sides. The dense and glorifying forests with beautiful waterfalls that drop from a great height provide an exquisite view. 

It is one of the most famous places to visit in Jawhar with the scenic beauty of the lush green forests and gorgeous waterfalls. Apart from admiring the beauty of the falls, one can also indulge in trying out some delicious local snacks near the falls after a tiring yet enjoyable experience at the attraction. 

Visitors who like adventure can also take a dip inside the pool of crystal clear water.  This pool is formed at the base of the waterfall. The visitors should also be very careful around the waterfall as the water may rise in the monsoon season making it a bit dangerous to be on the edge.

Malshej Waterfalls

It is a fascinating waterfall located on the Malshej Ghat, Maharashtra. It is at a distance of about 6 km from the Malshej Ghat Viewpoint. Situated on Ahmednagar-Kalyan road, it is one of the beautiful waterfalls near Pune. It is among the best places to visit as part of Malshej Ghat tour packages.
