Later this month, India’s domestic vaccine, Covaxin, will be added to the UK and the USA’s list of approved jabs for overseas travellers. Ones immunized with the Bharat Biotech-manufactured jab would not need to self-isolate. The Indian Government has banned all international passenger flights until November 30th, 2021, due to the Covid-19 outbreak. Only nations having air-bubble agreements with India provide direct flights to their respective areas.
United Kingdom
UK has announced that it will recognize COVID-19 vaccines on the WHO’s Emergency Use List later this month.
United States
After 21 months, the US withdrew its Covid-19 travel restrictions. The Government will authorize Covaxin soon.
Switzerland
Switzerland has recognized Covaxin as a legitimate vaccination for travel from India.
Oman
Indians who have received two doses of Covaxin at least 14 days before the arrival date are allowed without the requirement of quarantine.
Nepal
Indians must produce a vaccination certificate, and the latest dose of the vaccine must be at least 14 days before the entrance.
Iran
Covaxin-immunized Indians are allowed to go. However, the person must be isolated for 14 days if the RT-PCR test results are unavailable.
Sri Lanka
Unvaccinated travellers will be quarantined for 14 days.
Estonia.
Indians who have taken Covaxin will not be subjected to testing or quarantine.
Zimbabwe.
Indian tourists must show confirmation of a negative RT-PCR test result. Covishield and Covaxin have also been recognized here.
US Allows Entry Of COVAXIN-Jabbed Indians
Countries Which Have Approved Covaxin, But Direct Travel is Not Allowed:
Australia
Covaxin has been licensed by Australia as well. However, indirect flights to Australia must be taken. They presently have layovers at Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Tokyo, who haven’t yet approved Covaxin.
The Philippines
Covaxin-jabbed travellers are permitted. However, travellers must take different routes.
Mexico
Covaxin can now be used in an emergency by Mexico.
Mauritius
Travel to Mauritius is possible for Indians who have received Covaxin; however, there are no direct flights from India.
Greece
Quarantine is not required unless Covid symptoms are present upon arrival. A vaccination certificate and a negative RT-PCR result are necessary for Indians travelling in Greece.
