P.V Sindhu seems to mark her territory by being consistent in her run for the title. While Lakshya Sen and Satwik Chirag will have the sheer attention since they will be making their debut in the BWF beginning on Wednesday. It will be the best representation of India in which seven players have been qualified for the USD 1,50,000 tournament.
She was the only Indian to win the prestigious title in 2018. She will definitely look forward to another strike in her upcoming campaign in Pornpawee Chochuwong of Thailand, in Group A. She has won two medals in the Olympics and reached three semi-final stages in the last three events. Seems like she is driven to reach the finals. Since she has been defeating the other two teams, her win seems apt for now. Sindhu seemed to be on her top game as she opened up a 5-2 lead and immediately grabbed 10 points straight. After the changes of the side, she led the game by 4-2 then won the tournament by 14-12.
Kidambi Srikanth, Lakshya Sen lead India’s challenge at HYLO Open
The qualifying of the two debutants seems quite tough since they have been dropped in the “group of death”. Even though they have undivided attention yet their success seems to be quite far from them at the moment. Lakshya Sen, winner of five titles in 2019 has been paired with the Olympic champion Victor Axelsen and two-time world champion Kento Momota and Rasmus Genke. Satwik-Chirag is no far less. They too have been paired with tough competitors of all times. This puts them in a tough situation but we can hope for the best. Even though the debutants have captured most of the attention, Sindhu is no far less. She has given her competitors a tough game and won all of her battles on the lead.
