COVID-19 has been one of the most unfortunate events to happen in the lives of people. People are continuously looking for some relief. A recent report by the health ministry reported a decrease in the rise of cases. According to the Union Health Ministry data updated recently, India listed around 12,516 new cases of coronavirus infections, which makes the total number of COVID-19 cases to 3,44,14,186, while the decline in active cases is 1,37,416, which is the lowest in 267 days. Also, according to the updated data, the death toll reached 4,62,690 with 501 new deaths.

For 35 days continuously, the daily rise in new covid cases has been below 20,000 and for 138 consecutive days now, less than 50,000 new cases of coronavirus infection have been recorded. The ministry said that of the total cases, the active cases comprise 0.40 per cent which has been the lowest since March 2020. While the national coronavirus infection recovery rate was recorded at 98.26 per cent, that is the highest since March 2020.
In a span of 24 hours, there has been a record a total decrease of 1,140 active covid-19 cases so far. The tally of COVID-19 cases in India had crossed: the 20-lakh mark on August 7th 2020, then on August 23rd it crossed 30 lakh, then 40 lakh on 5th September and 50 lakh on September 16. Then on 28th September, it went past 60 lakh, 70 lakh on October 11th, crossed 80 lakh on October 29th, 90 lakh on November 20th and lastly surpassed the one-crore mark on 19th December. And then on May 4th, India crossed the uninviting milestone of two crores on May 4th and then hit the three crore mark on 23rd June.
