The IPL 2022 Auction is right around the corner. And this is the time to predict the list of players who could be retained by their former teams. This list includes some big names like Virat Kohli, M.S. Dhoni, K.L. Rahul, and Rohit Sharma.
The IPL 2022 consists of 8 teams including the newcomers, Lucknow and Ahmedabad. Before beginning with the retention list prediction, let us first understand the regulations of the retention policy. The retention policy says that a team can only retain 4 players at a go. This can be done in two ways. The first way is retaining 3 Indian players and one overseas player. The second option is to retain 2 Indian players and 2 overseas players. When the teams begin to retain their players, a certain amount of money gets deducted from their respective auction budgets. Hence, the retention policy has specified exactly how much money will be reduced. If a single player is retained, Rupees 14 crores will be reduced from the respective team’s auction budget. If two players are retained, then that respective team would lose 24 crores INR. For three and four players retained, the amount decreased from the auction budget would be Rupees 33 crores and Rupees 42 crores respectively.
M.S. Dhoni to think about participation in IPL 2022, says there is a lot of time to ponder
