The India tour of South Africa is just around the corner. Before it, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Cricket South Africa (CSA) have reached an agreement regarding the management of possible COVID cases during the tour. According to the agreement, even if an isolated case is confirmed among the players and the support staff during the ongoing tour, the tour will continue. Also, close contacts will not be forced to go into isolation. This was all told by CSA’s chief medical officer Dr. Shuaib Manjra during an interview with the NDTV.
It is to be noted that India will be playing a total of 6 matches against South Africa, 3 Test matches followed by 3 ODIs. The test matches will be held in Centurion (December 26- December 30), Johannesburg (January 3- January 7), and Cape Town (January 11- January 15). Talking about the ODIs, India will face South Africa on January 19, 21, and 23. Cricket South Africa has put in place revised norms which say anyone coming in contact with a Covid-19 positive person will need not to quit the team bubble and can play during India’s tour of South Africa.
