This year marked a golden period for Indian sports. To mark its brilliant closure, India’s ace shuttler and one of the biggest Indian sports stars Kidambi Srikanth bagged a hard-earned silver in the BWF World Championships. In the BWF World Championships held in Huelva, Spain, Kidambi fell short of Singaporean shuttler Loh Kean Yew. The Singaporeans managed to score a rather comfortable victory by finishing the game within 2 sets. However, it will be wrong to say that Srikanth didn’t put up a fight. The game ended in Loh’s favor with a score of 15-21, 20-22. While the second round was very close, the game ultimately ended in the Singaporean’s favor. Talking about the gold-medal winner, he defeated the Olympic champion Viktor Axelsen in the first round of the championship. In the semi-finals, he went toe-to-toe against Anders Antonsen. Just like the finals, he ousted his opponent within 2 sets with a score of 23-21 and 21-14.
