National Achievement Survey in November, 38 lakh students to participate
The state has picked 3,165 schools for NAS. On Thursday, the field investigators, who are education department officials, and the observers, who are CBSE school teachers, reported to their respective coordinators, and a final count was taken that evening. Some observers picked up survey materials from coordinators on Thursday evening, while others will do so by 6 a.m. on Friday before arriving at schools at 8 a.m.
Schools created rosters on Thursday to send teachers as observers to other sites. No instructor from the host school will be permitted to enter the survey room. “The rooms have been fumigated and sanitized, and hand sanitisers have been placed at strategic spots.” Signs with the word “Covid” were erected. A fully equipped isolation room with a nurse has been established. The teachers made the pupils practice on OMR sheets so they could become familiar with the technique. The schools had their safety protocol examined and accredited by the Quality Council of India before NAS because only Class III students will be tested here. Furthermore, most of the schools have sanitized the building and administered anti-viral medication. “We focused on routes for youngsters to take so there is less cross-traffic,” said spokeswoman Krishna Damani.
