Following the Punjab Assembly election, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) accused the Bhagwant Mann of attempting to recruit lawmakers from the party, including its State unit president, Bhagwant Mann, who claimed he had been offered money and a position in the Union Cabinet in exchange for joining the party ahead of the election. The BJP did not respond to the claims in a timely manner. According to Mr. Mann, a member of Parliament from Sangrur, who declined to name anyone, a top BJP leader approached him four days ago and inquired as to “what it would take for you to join the party?”
It was stated by the AAP leader that he was approached and told that joining the BJP would result in him being appointed to the Union Cabinet of the country. Mr. Mann spoke to reporters in Chandigarh, saying, “I told him (BJP leader) that I am on a mission, not a commission.” AAP spokesperson Raghav Chadha took a dig at the BJP, claiming that 25 Congress MLAs had approached his party about joining it. He stated that the AAP does not want this “trash,” and that he is willing to share the list with the BJP if it wants to accept them into its fold. Mr. Chadha claimed that “senior BJP leaders” from Delhi had approached AAP leaders in Punjab over the phone, pleading with them to join the party and offered bribes in exchange for their cooperation.

The AAP leader claimed that senior-most leaders of the BJP were calling party leaders, MPs, and MLAs in Punjab, pleading with them to join the party and offering them any amount of money, land, property, and position they desired in exchange for leaving the AAP. Mr. Chadha made the allegations during a press conference in Delhi. According to him, “calls have been placed straight to our MP Bhagwant Singh Mann from the office of Amit Shah (Union Home Minister).” In a scathing attack on the BJP, he stated that leaders and workers of the AAP “can neither be intimidated nor bought.”
