A doctor at a Delhi hospital noted that individuals suffering from the new Omicron variant are recovering well from moderate symptoms and do not require oxygen or admission to an intensive care unit. The doctor’s comments came amid increased concern about infection from the new version (ICU). During an interview with the news agency ANI, Dr. Suresh Kumar, managing director of Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan (LNJP) Hospital, stated that just two of the 24 Omicron patients experienced moderate symptoms, with the remaining twelve having recovered and been discharged.

In addition, the remaining 12 Omicron patients are doing well and are in stable condition. Patients with mild symptoms accounted for only two of the total. One was suffering from a little fever, while the other was experiencing slight weakness and loose motion. “There are no problems with any of the other patients,” Kumar added, adding that everyone’s oxygen level was within normal range.
He stated that 60 incoming tourists from other nations are hospitalized at the LNJP hospital as Omicron suspects each year and that the rate of transmission of the new variation of concern has increased by a large amount. “However, the good news is that no fatalities have been reported thus far. There was not a single patient out of the 24 who required oxygen or ICU care. Everyone has been treated with simple therapies,” he explained.
