In the composite ranking for Good Governance Index (GGI) 2021 issued on Saturday by home minister Amit Shah, the city fell from second to fourth place among UTs, the second blow following the dismal performance in the Swachhta Survekshan, landing at 66th place from 16th. The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances created the GGI 2021. (DARPG). The most recent index was published in 2019. The Good Governance Index is a tool for assessing the state and local government’s governance. The GGI 2021 framework included 58 indicators and ten sectors.
The indicators for Swachh Survekshan-2022 were addressed in length at the conference, including the parameters and marking scheme, as well as the roles and duties of the various departments under the UT Administration and the Municipal Corporation.
