Health minister T Harish Rao has established certain objectives to enhance medical infrastructure in the state apart from fighting the third wave of Covid-19. He instructed Sribala Vadlapatla that medical colleges, seats, hospital beds, etc., will notice a vast change in the next 18 months. He said in an interview,” It is incorrect to say that we do a low number of daily tests. We operate around 35,000 tests even when the caseload is not about 200 per day. When the caseload is low, the amount of first and second contacts will be curbed. We are striving to equalize the situation in Telangana. We are already encountering criticism that we are imposing and obtaining fines from people for not wearing the mask. We are predicting a spike in February. We have been noting the cases correctly. At the same time, we must prevent infusing unnecessary suspicion into people.
Telangana: All intermediate first year students declared as pass
Presently, we are equipped to handle the third wave. If it arises and as global data demonstrates that the recent Omicron variant is not as risky as the Delta variant. From hospital beds to medications to vaccine doses everything is ready. In the twin cities, approximately 1,600 extra Covid-19 treatment beds will be accessible shortly. As declared, preparation for four super-specialty hospitals in the city is in the works. Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS) is already inaugurated and will be upgraded. Three other super-specialty hospitals in Gaddiannaram, Erragadda, and Alwal will be inaugurated. Each will have 1,000 beds at an expense of around Rs 1,000-Rs 1,200 crores. A 2,000-bed health city project will be established in Warangal. All of these specialty hospitals will be under TIMS, which will be the nodal hospital. Ahead with these, NIMS will also be boosted on a large scale.
