Amidst these conversations, the Former BCCI secretary Sanjay Jagdale confronted that KL Rahul should succeed Viral Kohli as the next test captain. He also added that he feels that the next test captain should be the one who can take the responsibility for a longer period. He also stated that Rahul took over the captaincy in the second test against South Africa when both Virat and Rohit suffered injuries. He has played in all three formats of the game. He also stressed the fact that the BCCI and selectors should ensure that IPL ‘power centres’ must not interfere in Indian cricket. He meant that KL Rahul should not be judged according to his performance in IPL. He is captain of Kings XI Punjab which isn’t a very strong team.
