In a separate case, a 12-year old boy was bitten by a venomous snake on a limb. The symptoms pointed towards the bite of a Russells Viper snake. The boy suffered from very large swelling in the arm that restricted the blood flow. In such cases, if treatment is not provided timely, then it poses a risk of amputation.
The boy was admitted to a local city nursing home. However, looking at the severity of the snakebite, the doctors referred him to Jehangir hospital. To make matters worse, he was also in shock. However, with the early intervention by the senior hand and wrist specialist Dr. Vijay Malshikare, a successful surgery was performed.
