Only fully vaccinated people will be authorized at public places such as markets, malls, hotels, and cinema halls in Punjab, the state administration declared on Tuesday amid a rise in coronavirus cases in several parts of the nation run by the Omicron variant of COVID-19. The law, which comes into effect from January 15, regardless, conspicuously did not speak of the political rallies at a time when the state is preparing to hold elections early next year. Private and public sector banks, hotels, bars, restaurants, malls, shopping complexes, cinema halls, gyms, and fitness centers have been requested to permit only fully vaccinated adults. All government, board, and corporation bureaus situated in Chandigarh will authorize only fully vaccinated people, as per the order published by the state’s home affairs and justice department.
