A vehicle exploded outside a hospital in the north English town of Liverpool on Saturday. The counter-terrorism authorities detained three individuals aged 29, 26, and 21 in the Kensington Area under the Terrorism Act. The blast took place outside the Liverpool Women’s Hospital as a Remembrance Day celebration was taking place commemorating the war dead at the Liverpool Cathedral.
Police have stated that they received a call at 1100 GMT. and have identified the car as a taxi that reached the hospital a few minutes before the explosion took place. The car blast killed one person and another person was injured. The authorities have stated they are investigating the case with the help of the local police and will soon receive information regarding it. The Interior Minister Priti Patel stated that she’ll be receiving regular updates regarding the investigation and Prime Minister Boris Johnson condemned the incident and conveyed his thoughts on the matter.

Detectives from Counter Terrorism Police North West said three men – aged 29, 26, and 21 – were detained in the Kensington area of the city. They said they were continuing to keep an open mind about the cause of the blast and were working with Merseyside Police as the investigation continued “at pace”. The security service, MI5, is also assisting. They have also stated that the incident is not stated as a terrorism incident and are still figuring out the details on the cause of the incident and the series of events that took place.
