The Special Forces of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan have demolished the barbed wire installed in the Gushta district of eastern Nangarhar province by Pakistani forces on the Durand Line a week ago, sources stated. Pakistani forces reportedly demolished the barbed wire as they wished to construct and widen the fence. Doctor Bashir who is Nangarhar province’s head of General Directorate of Intelligence (GDI) was overseeing the operation in the border district of Gushta, explained the sources incident indicates the rising tensions between the two countries over a nettlesome border clash even as Pakistan has been trying to improve its power in Afghanistan since the Taliban takeover in August, involving a push in its aides into the new administration.

A video clip from the scene indicates that Bashir is dealing with Pakistani forces and threatening them with severe repercussions if they reiterate their action. “Next time if you look bad at Afghanistan, I will come and take this area (only hundreds of meters from Pakistan’s soil) and will make it my frontline to wage war with you,” he announces. “I swear by Allah that waging war with you makes me happier than waging war with the Jewish…Don’t even urinate down here. If you come to a step further, I will fight you here…” This is supported by screams of “death to Pakistan” from Taliban troopers. Unconfirmed statements explain that Pakistani forces began artillery fire on Kunar province on Monday night after the event in the Gushta district of Nangarhar province. Pakistan has almost completed its barbed wire fencing on the full Durand Line that stretches approximately 2,400 km between the two countries.
