One of the coldest regions in Northern India during the winter season, Chandigarh, is not going to experience relief from the chilling temperatures anytime soon. However, the residents will be relieved from the fog for a couple of days as per the weather reports. Weather forecasts have shown that clouds will be most likely cover most of the skies, hence there is no possibility of fog for the upcoming 2 days. On Monday, the maximum temperature recorded in Chandigarh was 18.9 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature was 3.3 degrees Celsius. On Tuesday, the recorded temperatures were around 18 degrees Celsius maximum and 4 degrees Celsius minimum. Weather reports have pointed towards the western disturbance arising in the western Himalaya region and the adjoining plains to be the reason behind the possible cloud cover.

Even though the past days were clear and sunny, it provided no relief from the dwindling mercury due to the strong cold winds overpowering the sun’s warmth. These few days have seen a sudden decrease in the temperatures finally marking the start of the winter season. While temperatures are falling nearly everywhere, more extreme in Northern India, hilly areas like Kullu-Manali have also started receiving a fresh batch of snowfall. The falling mercury along with the upcoming winter vacations has created a perfect ambiance for people to visit hill stations and great tourist spots like Chandigarh. Since the fog won’t be there for almost two days due to the clouds coming up, it will provide tourists a better environment to visit Chandigarh with their families during the upcoming winter vacations.
