77-year-old Milos Zeman, The President of the Czech Republic recently appointed the nation’s 13th Prime Minister. The intriguing fact about this appointment is that it was done behind a plexiglass box that isolates the person sitting inside it. This time around, it was Mr. Zeman who was present inside the box, to appoint the nation’s new prime minister.
The president who is a chain-smoker and a chronic alcoholic recently suffered from COVID-19. Last week it was diagnosed that he succumbed to the pandemic, and thus protective measures such as self-isolation and wheelchairs were observed. Mr. Zeman also has diabetes, which adds to the health issues restricting him from communicating directly with people. The president sat on his wheelchair, inside the plexiglass box, and gave out the name for the new Prime Minister of the country.
The Plexiglass was used as a medium of isolation that enabled the president to announce the new Prime Minister of the country to its people. Mr. Zeman first began by announcing his 2-week of interviews that would take place with the candidates. However, the voting from the previous month concluded with a shocking win for the newly elected prime minister, Petr Fiala. He went head-to-head against the previous Prime Minister, Andrej Babis.

After 4 years of tenure, the ex-prime minister, Mr. Babis, stood in the re-election and participated in the poll. However, surprisingly, he was beaten by the new Prime Minister, Mr. Fiala. The element of surprise present in this poll was the decision of the public. Mr. Fiala, the newly elected PM, is known for his razor-sharp tongue and discriminative attitude towards the transgender community. Yet, he was elected as the Prime Minister. This explains the current controversy following the reputation of Mr. Zeman. The complete transfer of governments would be finished by December 13th, which will mark the beginning of Mr. Petr Fiala’s tenure.
