1. Micromax Informatics
Micromax Informatics (MMX), is an Indian Multinational Electronics Company founded by Rahul Sharma in 2000. It specializes in smartphones, laptops, consumer electronics, and home appliances. Its headquarters are in Gurugram, India. Micromax is one of the leading consumer electronic companies in India and also the 10th largest mobile phone player in the world.
Micromax came into existence on 29th March 2000. Around 2010 it became one of the largest domestic companies that made handsets in the low-cost feature phone segment in India. It is the tenth-largest smartphone vendor in the world.
It launched its first eight-core flagship smartphone, CanvasA350 back in 2014 for the Russian Market and subsequently launched the Android One smartphone, Canvas A1. Micromax partnered with Cyanogen Inc. to sell Cyanogen-based smartphones in India.
The first celebrities to ever endorse Micromax Mobiles were Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna. In 2013, Hugh Jackman became the brand ambassador of Micromax and appeared in the TV commercial for its flagship smartphone, the Canvas Turbo A250 and Canvas 4, and Canvas Silver 5 afterwards. Chitrangada Singh also posed for the Canvas 4 smartphone in Delhi in 2013. In 2017, Vighnesh Pande endorsed Micromax Canvas Unite 4 Line.
The Government provides land to Micromax for setting up the centre that has a capacity to produce 10 lakh devices a month including mobile phones, LED TVs, LED Lights, and Tablets. Micromax already has 3 factories- Bhiwadi (Rajasthan), Rudrapur (Uttrakhand), and Telangana.
Micromax has a wholly-owned unit that goes by the name YU Televentures that is a joint venture between Cyanogen Inc. and Micromax Informatics created in December 2014.
Rahul Sharma received the award for Transformational Business Leader of the Year in 2017. Its revenue is over Rs. 22000 Crores and it has more than 20000 employees working for them on a regular basis.
2. Intex Technologies
Intex Technologie, founded in 1996 by Narendra Bansal is an Indian multinational electronics manufacturing services company that manufactures smartphones, consumer electronics, and other accessories. Its headquarters are in New Delhi. Currently, Keshav Bansal, Narendra Bansal’s son is the active Director of the Company.
In 2012, Bansal decided to expand Intex Technologies from an IT Company with the entry in the LED TVs business. Just like Micromax, it has a huge range of products including smartphones, LED TVs, speakers, tablets, ACs, UPS, coolers, and many other products.
Intex has a revenue of over Rs. 6200 Crores and has 10000+ employees. The company also owned an IPL Franchise named Gujarat Lions in 2016 and 2017.
3. Lava International
Lava International, founded by Hari Om Rai, Sunil Bhalla, Shailendra Nath Rai, and Vishal Sehgal in 2009, is an Indian multinational electronics company that manufactures electronic products including smartphones, laptops, computer hardware, and consumer electronics. Its headquarters are in Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
Intel teamed up with Lava to announce the first smartphone in India with an Intel Processor, the Xolo X900. This is when the brand Xolo was launched.
The Lava Iris X1 was one of the first smartphones in India to run on Android Kitkat (4.4) OS. Lava also launched India’s first 4G enabled feature phone, 4G connect M14.
Lava also has overseas operations in Nepal, Bangladesh, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Mexico. It started its operation in Africa by launching its product in Egypt in 2016.

Karbonn Mobiles, founded in March 2009 by Pradeep Jain and Sudhir Hasija is an Indian Smartphones Manufacturing Company. It is a joint venture between United Telelinks Ltd., a Bengaluru-based firm, and Jaina Marketing Pvt. Ltd. Its headquarter is in New Delhi. Karbonn also has numerous tie-ups with networks like Airtel, Vodafone Idea, and Jio.
Karbonn announced the launch of its extension ‘Karbonn Smart’ in October 2012. In 2014, Microsoft made an announcement that Karbonn is a hardware partner of Windows Phone OS.
In 2014, Karbonn was ranked 77th most trusted brand in India among 1200 other high-end brands by The Brand Trust Report.
Karbonn was the first Android One Phone to be sold in the United Kingdom. Karbonn has a revenue of over Rs. 650 Crores and has over 10000 employees.
5. iBall Mobiles
iBall Mobiles, founded in 2001 by Anil Parasrampuria and Sandeep Parasrampuria is an Indian Electronics Manufacturing Services Company. Its headquarter is in Mumbai. It is one of the popular Indian phone brands.
iBall initially started with the sale of Computer mice. By 2011 the company was selling 27 different electronics products categories in the country. In 2014, iBall launched a smartphone for women named Andi Uddaan with an SOS button at the back of the phone which sounded a loud siren and immediately sent a text (SMS) to 5 people that were pre-selected by the owner of the phone.
In 2016, iBall claimed to have launched India’s most reasonable Windows 10 laptop- iBall Camp book at Rs. 9,999. This happened in a strategic relationship with Intel and Microsoft.
iBall won the MEA Award for Innovative Use of Ambient Media in 2020. iBall has a revenue of over Rs.1200 Crores and it has 2000+ employees working for it.
6. Reliance Jio Lyf Mobiles
Reliance Jio Lyf, founded in 2015 by Mukesh Ambani is popular among Indian phone brands. It also sells smartphones, laptops, and consumer electronics that are developed by Jio. Its headquarter is in Mumbai.
It is a subsidiary of Jio that is the telecommunication arm of Reliance Industries. LYF is operated with its parent flagship venture Jio. Back in 2016, LYF was declared the largest smartphone player and second-largest LTE supplier phone in India.
It launched its first set of 4G-enabled smartphones named Earth, Flame, Water, and Wind after the 4 important elements.
In 2016, researchers found that LYF was the fifth largest smartphone producer in the Indian Market. Back in 2016, LYF tied up with Grofers and Amazon to deliver its phone to users.
7. Spice Mobiles
Bhupendra Kumar Modi founded Spice Digital Limited (initially registered as Cellebrum Technologies) in 2000. It is an Indian Telecommunications Company. Its headquarter is in Noida, India.
Bhupendra Kumar Modi started Spice Digital Limited with 13 people as staff. By 2006, the company had hired a staff of 400 people.
The company has many other businesses including Value Added Services, Spice Telecom, Spice Mobiles. It launched various smartphones under the brand name Spice Stellar. The company currently has more than 550 employees working for them.
8. Swipe Mobiles
Swipe Mobiles, founded by Shripal Gandhi, is one of the best Indian phone brands. It is a startup that launched its first tablet in 2012. Its headquarter is in Singapore. It has almost 500 employees that work for the company.

10. Smartron
Smartron, founded in 2014 by Mahesh Lingareddy, Narsi Posham, and Rohit Rathi is a Hyderabad-based startup whose main goal is to become a “premier global loT convergence brand” with its main focus on sensors, robotics, and the cloud. It also uses 18 technology products and services that include HTML5, Google Analytics, and Google Fonts.
