The full form of NCB is Narcotics Control Bureau. The NCB is an Indian federal agency under the Indian Ministry of Home Affairs. In compliance with the rules of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, the Agency has the responsibility to fighting drug trafficking and unlawful usage.

Formed in 1986, it coordinates with the Indian governments and other central departments. NCB also implements India’s international drug trafficking commitments and assists international and foreign drug law enforcement organisations.
The Narcotics Control Bureau opened its doors on March 17, 1986. They aim to ensure the full execution of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act of 1985 and also to combat its violations through the Prevention of Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act of 1988.
The legislation was set in order for India to meet its treaty commitments under the Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs, the Convention on Psychotropic Substances, and the United Nations Convention Against Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances. What Does NCB Do?
