Why choose Compressed Natural Gas against others?
Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) is an environmentally friendly alternative to gasoline that comprises mostly of Methane (CH4) which is 93% in composition with other impurities. CNG is a naturally occurring gas compressed to less than 1% of its volume at regular atmospheric pressure. It remains clear, odorless, and non-corrosive which reinforces the longevity of spark plugs. In this article, we’ll highlight the List of all CNG Pumps in Chandigarh.
Compressed Natural Gas is also cheaper, greener due to its lead and sulfur-free character. This serves as a more efficient alternative to the traditional petrol and diesel fuels for vehicles. CNG vehicles, unlike diesel, are non-toxic, and also the decrease of harmful emissions improves air quality. As compared to diesel, CNG vehicles can reduce noise by up to 50%. CNG vehicles have the potential to produce 40-50 percent higher mileage than gasoline and diesel vehicles.

In the year 2016, the previous Minister of Petroleum and Natural gas of India, Dharmendra Pradhan, inaugurated the primary CNG station of Punjab at a petroleum pump in sector 56, Mohali, the primary CNG station of Chandigarh in sector 44, and therefore the first PNG (Piped Natural Gas) connection at EWS (Economically Weaker Section) society of sector 46 Chandigarh. The establishment of those projects was the initiative of supplying eco-friendly fossil fuel to households, vehicles, industries, and other units. CNG in Chandigarh has been provided by an Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) in joint association with Adani gas.

How are visiting CNG Pumps in Chandigarh beneficial?
CNG is economically beneficial because of its lower rate as compared to diesel in Chandigarh. The value of diesel is Rs. 80.9 per liter whereas the worth of CNG is Rs.71.40 per kg, in Chandigarh. CNG provides a mileage of 21km/kg while the mileage of diesel is 17kmpl. The CNG Pump dealership is profitable because the particular cost of CNG is priced between fifteen to twenty rupees, to gross margin you get is nearly what you’re selling.
Natural gas is currently outside the ambit of GST (Goods and Services Tax) but it is often levied from a date modified and recommended by the GST Council. There’s is no central excise on gas in its gaseous form, but 11% of excise duty is levied on Compressed Natural Gas by the Centre. However, VAT (value-added tax) on fossil fuel fluctuates from state to state in the range of 6% to 24.5%. As per Schedule B-15 of the Act, the sale of CNG to the costumers who are not registered dealers, are prone to tax @ 13.5%.
Thus, CNG plays an important role ecologically and economically. But, CNG comprises some of the demerits like decreased boot space, frequent car service schedules, higher purchasing cost due to CNG gas kit, limited availability of pump stations. Retro-fitted CNG cars cannot be used legally unless there’s prior approval from the RTO(Regional Transport Office)
